To the editor;
Hello residents of the area – I hear that there are many of you who are not sure about how you can meet new friends and find a way to meaningfully contribute to the fabric of the valley.
It’s your lucky day. As a member of several organizations, I can assure you that most of these groups welcome new members. Some are, naturally, ‘invitation only’ types of groups; but most memberships are available to all.
One just needs to consider where they would like to offer their talents and ask someone who already attends to bring them to the next meeting – or – take advantage of seeing an AGM announcement and just simply showing up; as all AGM”s are open to the public.
This is a time when the Missions and Goals are posted, the bank statements are available, and the majority of the membership is present. An excellent birds eye view is thus available and will help you decide if that group is one you’d be comfortable joining.
So – welcome to the volunteer community of the North Thompson Valley – have fun deciding where you’d like to contribute.
