Editor: With the municipal elections around the corner, many people will put their name in the hat to run for council. While it’s great to see people involved in local politics, when it comes time to put an “X” on the ballot, we should be electing people who will make a positive impact in our community.
Running for council is not an easy task, and we should be voting for outstanding members of our community who are active in making our neighbourhoods better.
It is easy to be swept away by candidates, both new and incumbent, who promise lower taxes, improved service, and sun in the winter. We need to be voting for people who have a vision for our community that is grounded in reality.
