To the Editor,
Re: Housing plan poses little risk to citizens, Letters, April 12.
Let’s not confuse drug addiction with mental illness as Ms. Bright is trying to do.
Using illegal drugs is illegal. How can a caring society condone illegal activities? I am all for helping those who truly need help and are attempting to help themselves, such as the working single mothers referred to in another letter.
Too many citizens are concerned that a wet house will simply condone, and thus perpetuate, this behaviour. Let’s spend the money on correcting the behaviour, not on a feel-good move that doesn’t truly benefit the entire community.
