Why are farmers watering in the heat of the day

After reading reports of how dangerously low our water levels have become, I have been wondering why it is I continue to see field after field being watered during the hottest times of the day.

Why do these farmers not practice wise watering regulation and do the majority of watering during the night while you would get the greatest coverage? We all know by now that watering during the hottest hours is not very effective. If we are all expected to sacrifice our plants and be in strict watering restrictions, then I will expect the same from our farmers.

I do understand how important our farmers are but almost all the fields that I see being watered is food for livestock. We can certainly live without meat, as many millions of people around the world do. We cannot live without water and livestock contribute greatly to climate change. Wake up people and be prepared to make personal changes as we must do everything we can do reverse climate change and we have no time to lose.
