To the editor:
I am disappointed that British Columbia’s incredible offshore wind energy resources have not yet been developed and capitalized on.
B.C. has some of the best offshore wind energy sites in the world, but the clean, renewable energy these sites could be producing is literally blowing past us.
With cost-effective clean energy so urgently needed in North America, can we really afford to let B.C.’s vast renewable energy resources go unutilized? B.C. could be supplying clean energy to other parts of this continent and replacing the coal-fired thermal energy currently being relied on.
So where is the call to arms that can make this happen? The environmental benefits are obvious. But the economic benefits for B.C. could be even greater if we capitalize on the incredible renewable energy resources B.C. has in abundance, including our world-class offshore wind resources.
