‘Worst road in Langley’ story strikes a chord

Readers respond to reports of 208 Street being named 'worst road in Langley'

Editor’s note — The Times’ Facebook page has seen a lot of reaction to a story published on Thursday, June 19 about 208 Street being named the “Worst Road in Langley.” Here is some of the reaction from our readers.

Editor: The city “planning” gets a D- for this one. Should have built the overpass on 216 and made that the alternate for 200 instead of disrupting a burgeoning residential neighbourhood for years.

Aaron Sifo-Dyas

Plain and simple: the Langley planners seem to have their heads up their a$&@$ — they put lights and overpasses in the most asinine places, there is construction absolutely everywhere with absolutely no regard for rush hour and daytime traffic (which there always is), there seems to be zero planning for enough parking for all these clusterfunk townhouses and condos they’re building on top of each other, our water levels are dropping rapidly — this city’s infrastructure cannot support it. I’ve just about had it with this place.

The planning in Willoughby and Yorkson seems to have been done by a drunken chimp. It is a nightmare.

Lorraine Baldwin

It’s all ridiculous. Can’t be in a rush anywhere in Langley. And yes, with the middle school opening it’s gonna be more of a joke in the area. But let’s build hundreds more townhomes and houses. Cause that will just make so much sense, not.

Alanna Jeske

It’s okay. I’m sure all the kids walking to school along there will be just fine. Until one child is not fine that is — I’m so worried.

Joan Cowley Hurley

How about the 400 square foot condos on 66 Avenue by Home Depot? Didn’t realize that we live in Mexico with their population.

Jeannie Watson Baboth

All good points people. Remember them in November and vote. Langley needs a new mayor and councillors.
