CVUSC Revolution women's soccer team hosts another entertaining event

Fourteen teams took part in the 13th annual Comox Valley Adult Co-ed 7-aside Soccer Tournament, June 6-8 at Valley View fields.

The Comox Valley United Soccer Club Revolution women’s soccer team hosted the event, which included door prizes, silent auction, raffle, 50-50 draw prizes, licensed service in the clubhouse and a barbecue.

Comox Valley United won the six-team men’s division, defeating Logan MacDonald in Sunday afternoon’s final. Campbell River defeated Chicks with Balls from Victoria to win the four-team women’s division, and the Comox Valley Fubard Streakers defeated Campbell River Fitness Etc. Warriors to take top spot in the four-team coed division.

Organizers note teams came from Cortes, Denman, Victoria, Campbell River, Powell River and the Comox Valley, and a portion of the proceeds will go to support the CVUSC youth program.

“We would like to thank everyone that helped out during the tournament,” spokesperson Erin Brown said. “Thanks to all of our donors for their continued support, and to all the teams that came out to play and continue to support our fun tournament.”

Tourney organizers thanked those who donated raffle prizes or discounts to the teams, including: Chris Ketch of Bodynetix in Courtenay, Coast Westerly Hotel and Conference Centre in Courtenay, Jenny Deters of Rattan Plus, Carey Cordocedo of Top Notch, Speedy Glass in Campbell River, Jaw-dropper coolers and Phil Ludwig of Coastal Black.
