Vernon’s Aaron Hoffman has been appointed as the new B.C. Hockey coach coordinator for the 2016 – 2017 season.
Hoffman has an extensive hockey background as a player, coach and mentor, bringing a wealth of hockey knowledge and leadership to the program.
As a player, Hoffman played from 1991-1994 with the B.C. Hockey League’s Merritt Centennials and 1994-1995 with the Surrey Eagles.
He was also a player/coach for the Perth Thunder of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL).
Other hockey roles for Hoffman include: head coach coordinator for North Okanagan Minor Hockey Association; B.C. Hockey course conductor; Hockey Canada skills camp lead; and operator of a Hockey Canada Skills Academy in Vernon
Hoffman also served as head coach and assistant coach for the U17 Okanagan region and operated as the coach mentor lead for the Western Australia Hockey Association.
“Aaron is a great addition to the coaching program and we are looking forward to bringing him into this role,”said B.C. Hockey chief executive officer Barry Petrachenko.
“His background as a player and administrator, both here in B.C. and overseas, will have a positive impact on the growth and delivery of the coaching program.”
