The annual Twisters Invitational Meet has been cancelled.
The gymnastics event, which was scheduled to run from March 13 to 17, was expected to bring in over 900 athletes from all over the province to Abbotsford’s Ag-Rec Building.
This year was also set to be the 25th anniversary of the event.

Following the directive of BC Health cancelling mass gatherings and in communication with Gymnastics BC, a decision was made to cancel the Twisters Invitational Meet that was scheduled for March 13-17, 2020. This annual gymnastics competition brings over 900 athletes from across the province to the Ag Rec building in Abbotsford along with coaches, judges, volunteers, spectators and staff.
We are deeply saddened but fully support the decision. The health and safety of our athletes, staff and parents as well as our visiting clubs and the community is our top priority.
This year was to mark our 25th Anniversary of the event. We were looking forward to the things we had planned to showcase that milestone. We have not yet determined if this will be a cancellation or a postponement. We are looking at all possibilities.
Twisters Gymnastics Club remains open – we are following the direction and guidelines laid out by the governing bodies. Extra precautions are in place for regular scheduled gymnastic classes and competitive training.
