Abbotsford’s Ledgeview Golf and Country Club has announced that the Joseph Richard Group will operate the new food and beverage space inside its brand new clubhouse.
The new dining area will be called Tavern on the Green, and JRG will also offer a full-service event space in the facility called Hillside Events.
The Ledgeview clubhouse went up in flames a little over five years ago, and construction of the new facility has been a plan years in the making.

The project had met delays over the years, with renderings of the new plans initially released in December of 2017. The Ledgeview society went on to criticize Abbotsford council for choosing to delay the project in the fall of 2018 after uncertainty surrounding the Trans Mountain pipeline, which runs beneath the course.

Final plans were approved in October 2019, with the bulk of the $6.8 million cost being financed by Trans Mountain and insurance money. The city’s own cost is estimated to be about $1.2 million.
The COVID-19 pandemic also led to some construction delays.

The focus of this long-term partnership boils down to two words: Guest Experience, and I am so happy that the residents of Abbotsford are going to be making memories at Ledgeview for decades to come.”
Abbotsford mayor Henry Braun stated he is looking forward to the building’s completion.
“On behalf of the City of Abbotsford and Abbotsford City Council, I’d like to congratulate the Ledgeview Golf and Country Club Society and the Joseph Richard Group on their new partnership,” he stated. “The city is nearing the completion of the Ledgeview Clubhouse facility at the golf course, and through this partnership, Abbotsford residents and visitors to our community will soon be able to enjoy world-class events and dining at this brand-new community amenity.”
An opening date for the clubhouse has not been confirmed, but a social media post from Ledgeview on May 20 states it will likely open in the fall.

The next big event coming to the course is the Maple Leaf Junior Tour, which runs on July 12 and 13. The annual club championship is scheduled for Aug. 28 and 29. Next year will be a big one for Ledgeview, as the club celebrates its 60 anniversary.
