The Acme Timbermen think they can reach their goals on the lacrosse floor this season, and they start working toward those goals now.
The Acme Painting Timbermen senior B lacrosse team starts the West Coast Senior Lacrosse Association season with a home game tonight (May 4) against the Valley Rebels.
“We know we’re capable, it’s just a matter of planning it out through the year, the ways to get there – you can’t just get there overnight,” said Mike Maughan, the team’s coach. “We’re looking to goal set along the way.”
The senior B Timbermen generally have strong starts to the season as other teams sometimes take longer to solidify their rosters. The Rebels are expected to be one of the top teams in the WCSLA this season, though.
“We want to start off on the right foot and let them know that they’re in our barn and we want to impose our will on them,” Maughan said.
GAME ON … The opening faceoff is at 5:45 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Tickets available at the door … To read a season preview on the Acme Timbermen, please click here.
