Acrobats excel at New West competition

The Revelstoke Acrobats competed in their second meet of the season last month in New Westminster on Feb. 18–20. Ten local athletes competed in trampoline, tumbling, and double mini trampoline events against a large field of B.C. athletes.

There were many highlights from the weekend of competition.

Ainslee Arthurs competed in the national category of trampoline events, a feat that has not been accomplished by any Revelstoke Acrobat in over ten years.

Taya Driediger competed in her first meet ever.

Jenna Bollefer and Frankie Howe competed in tumbling for their first time.

Marissa Duncan competed in the highest provincial level ‘A’ for her first time, and almost every athlete earned a medal or ribbon in one of their events.

Here are the individual results for double mini trampoline, trampoline, and tumbling categories:

Taya Driediger (10 and under): 11th overall double mini trampoline, 8th trampoline

Chloe Suchovs: 4th ‘C’ double mini trampoline, 4th ‘C’ trampoline

Jenna Bollefer: 12th ‘C’ double mini trampoline, 1st ‘C’ trampoline, 7th ‘D’ tumbling

Frankie Howe: 10th ‘C’ double mini, 3rd ‘C’ trampoline, 5th ‘D’ tumbling

Kayla Fenwick: 2nd ‘C’ double mini, 19th ‘B’ trampoline

Jordan Vandenberg-Clark: 1st ‘C’ double mini, 10th ‘B’ trampoline

Cheyenne Brule: 17th ‘B’ double mini, 17th ‘B’ trampoline

Stephanie Batke: 2nd ‘B’ double mini, 3rd ‘B’ trampoline

Marissa Duncan: 8th ‘A’ double mini, 5th ‘A’ trampoline

Ainslee Arthurs (National Novice): 5th double mini, 6th trampoline

The Acrobats will be travelling to Kelowna for their next competition in March.
