The Aldergrove Kodiaks suffered their second loss of the season at home ice on Wednesday, Sept. 28, falling 3-1 to the Mission Outlaws.
The Outlaws also beat the Kodiaks 3-2 on Sept. 10 at the Mission Leisure Centre.
The Kodiaks outshot the Outlaws 44-30, but the Outlaws’ goalie Matthew Trulsen did yeoman’s work in stopping 43 of those shots.
The Kodiaks were also unable to capitalize on any of their seven power plays, while the Outlaws scored on two of three.
The Kodiaks’ only bright light that night was the game’s third star, Matt Oliver, who scored in the first period, unassisted.
The result leaves the Kodiaks stalled at second in the Harold Brittain conference, with 10 points after seven games (5-2-0-0), two points behind the Ridge Meadows Flames. Abbotsford Pilots follow at eight points, and Mission trail at seven points, while Surrey Knights sit at the bottom with zero wins in six games.
The Kodiaks travel to Abbotsford Sept. 30 to face the Pilots.
