The Six Nations Arrows have pushed back from being down 2-0 in the Minto Cup Junior A Lacrosse championship, and were one win away from lifting the holy grail.
The Arrows shot down Brett Hawrys the and Coquitlam Adanacs 12-7 in Game 5 Thursday night at the Langley Events Centre.
Game 6 went Saturday night at the LEC. Game 7, if necessary, goes tonight.
Hawrys, a former Armstrong Shamrock, picked up an assist on Wesley Berg’s first period powerplay goal.
Hawrys now owns three goals and seven points this series.
The Ontario champion Arrows have outscored the Adanacs 43-19 since Game 3.
Brendan Bomberry pulled a hat trick and finished with five points for the Arrows, while James Rahe recorded a pair of goals and assists for the Adanacs.
The Arrows are vying for their third Minto Cup. The previously knocked off the Adanacs in seven games in the 1992 final.
The Adanacs are trying to capture their second Minto Cup. They last won it in 2010 and were finalists in 2011 and 2012.
The Adanacs knocked off the New Westminster Salmonbellies in seven games in the B.C. final to advance to the Minto Cup.
