The Aldergrove Kodiaks pulled off an important 4-3 win over the league-leading Mission Outlaws Saturday at Mission.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 at the start of the second period but the Kodiaks scored the second period’s only two goals for a 3-1 lead.
Mission scored twice in the third but the Kodiaks notched another goal for the 4-3 win.
Aldergrove scored three times on their eight power plays, while the Outlaws scored once out of six.
The Kodiaks also outshot the Outlaws 24-20, and Cole Forbes served in the net for the Kodiaks.
Scoring for Aldergrove were Joshua Poitras, (power play), Davin Padgham (power play), Spencer Unger (power play) and Elijah Vilio.
Assists came from Joshua Pollock, Cameron Davitt (2), Brandon Dolby (2), Matt Oliver and affiliate Ty Pickering.
Davitt and Padgham were awarded the game’s first and second stars.
The result puts the Kodiaks at 28 points after 27 games (13-12-0-2) for third place in the Harold Brittain conference.
The Kodiaks’ final games before the Christmas break are Wednesday, Dec. 16 versus Grandview Steelers at Aldergrove Arena, and away at George Preston Arena versus the Langley Knights the following night.
