Another great season of Aldergrove Youth Spring Soccer wrapped up on Monday, June 15, with a pizza party for the 198 participants.
Over the past 10 weeks the youths have been honing their skills and practicing at the twin turf fields at Aldergrove Athletic Park. The weather’s been superb and the fun has been non-stop.
The program, which has won praise from BC Soccer for its innovations and low cost for participants, has been running for seven or eight years now, for ages four to 12 years old.
It is for the fall soccer participants who can’t get enough in their regular seasons as well as those who can’t play fall soccer because of other commitments such as minor hockey. This year there were also Wednesday night skills clinics, in addition to the regular games every Monday night.
A generous donation by the Aldergrove Elks Club has helped to keep registration costs down, and Aldergrove Chevron is also a sponsor.
Registration for fall soccer is underway now, with early bird registration fees before June 30. Last year there were 557 players registered and about 50 teams in play.
For registration information see their website: www.aldergrovesoccer.com/register/fall/. Early bird registration ends June 30 and fees increase $25 to $50 after that date.
