The 8th Annual Andy Waughman Coed Tournament took place in Vernon Saturday.
With all registration fees going toward the North Okanagan Youth Soccer player development fund, the tournament is put on in memory of NOYSA’s first Head Coach Andy Waughman, who sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2009.
“He was a well respected coach loved by those he worked with and many of the players he coached. Every year some of those same players (and coaches) play in the tournament to honour his memory,” said Marina Korberg, executive director of NOYSA.
Games began at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and the last game started at 5:15 p.m. at the Vernon Toyota Indoor Sports Centre.
“The focus of the tournament is simply to have fun – no scores are kept,” said Korberg.
