Annual Crest Glory Days running event to take place in Prince Rupert on May 12

The Rupert Runners Club will once again be holding the annual Crest Glory Days run and walk, with registration currently underway.

Running season is now well underway, with the Rupert Runners Club holding their second springtime event, Crest Glory Days 2012, on Saturday, May 12.

The annual event can either be walked, or ran, with the 5 km walk beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Crest Hotel, and the 5 km and 10 km run starting at 10 a.m., also at the Crest.

There will be a number of age categories for both males and females in both the 5 km and 10 km run. These categories will consist of children aged eleven and under, twelve to fifteen year olds, sixteen to nineteen year olds, twenty to thirty-nine year olds, and forty and up.

Winners in each category will be awarded for their efforts at an awards ceremony being held in the BC Room at the Crest Hotel after the race. Additionally, all race finishers will be eligible for prizes being distributed through a random draw. Winners must be at the ceremony to claim their prizes.

Anyone wishing to participate in the Crest Glory Days 2012 event is encouraged to visit the Rupert Runners Club website (www.rupertrunners.com) where the entry form can be downloaded at. Cheques should be made out to the Rupert Runners, and all entry forms should be dropped off at the Crest Hotel or by mail to:
