Ross Baadsvik earned the Aldergrove Kodiaks a single point on Friday night.
The Kodiaks goaltender was sensational, turning aside 38 of the 40 shots he faced, to earn the game’s second star. Unfortunately, that was not enough as the Abbotsford Pilots won 2-1 in overtime.
Pilots’ Kevin Lourens opened the scoring in the first period, but Brendan Lamont responded for the Kodiaks in the second period, from Eric McEwan and Colton Precourt.
Riley Lamb earned the second point in OT for the host Pilots at the MSA Arena in junior B hockey action.
The game was even for penalties and both teams went zero for six on power plays.
The Kodiaks earned the single point despite getting just 15 shots on goal that night.
Abbotsford leads the PIJHL’s Harold Brittain Conference with 51 points, while Aldergrove is in danger of missing the playoffs. With seven games to go in the regular season, the Kodiaks trail fourth-place Mission by four points.
Aldergrove has a big chance to move closer to that final playoff berth as they host Mission on Feb. 2 at the Aldergrove Arena.
