Aquasonics senior team wins silver

The BC Aquasonics Senior National Stream Synchronized Swimming team, including Amy Whitton of Aldergrove, won silver at Synchro Canada’s National Qualifier Championships.

Held in Calgary, it was the largest synchronized swimming competition in Canadian history.

The team, coached by Susan Kemper, ChPC, posted a score of 71.900.

The BC Aquasonics 13-15 National Stream Team, coached by Tanya Magee and Suzanna Goddard, also had a banner performance. Sitting in 14th place after the first day’s figure competition, their routine in the preliminary round vaulted the team into eighth place, with a score of 65.401, earning them a spot in the final. Alanna Stobbe of Abbotsford is a member of the 13-15 BC Aquasonics team.

Earlier this week, the BC Aquasonics National Stream Combo Team placed sixth in the Combo final with a score of 72.880 and Erin Williams (Surrey) finished sixth in the Senior FINA Technical Solo.
