B.C. Cash Bowls

Playing through every weather condition last weekend, except snow, bowlers at the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club faced lots of challenges.

Playing through every imaginable weather condition last weekend, except snow, bowlers at the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club faced lots of challenges in the B.C. Cash Bowls Tournament.

After the greens were soaked with rain and the wind finally settled enough, bowlers were able to conquer the conditions as local teams dominated, earning five of the top eight spots.

Early draw winners:

• 1st: Bob Findlay, Joyce Findlay and Jim McDonald (Qualicum Beach)

• 2nd: Stephen Forrest, Robin Forrest and Alison Merryfield (Port Alberni)

• 3rd: Mick Banks, Gerry Murphy and Nancy Blue (QB)

• 4th: John Wilson, Jane Nielsen and Brian Sutton (QB)

Late draw:

• 1st: Vern Greenhill, Dean Penny and Anne Kwasnitza (Courtenay)

• 2nd: Rick Quibell, Mary Mulligan and Dean Thompson (Nanaimo)

• 3rd: Dave Muir, Roberta Stets and Peter Scott (Parksville)

• 4th: Dave Cole, Vera Gebhardt and Delores Adams (Parksville)
