Baadsvik’s stellar effort not enough as Kodiaks lose in OT

Ross Baadsvik earned the Aldergrove Kodiaks a single point on Friday night.

The Kodiaks goaltender was sensational, turning aside 38 of the 40 shots he faced. Unfortunately, that was not enough as the Abbotsford Pilots won 2-1 in overtime.

Riley Lamb earned the second point for the host Pilots at the MSA Arena in junior B hockey action.

Abbotsford leads the PIJHL’s Harold Brittain Conference with 51 points, while Aldergrove is in danger of missing the playoffs. With seven games to go in the regular season, the Kodiaks trail fourth-place Mission by four points.

Against the Pilots, Kevin Lourens opened the scoring in the first period, but Brendan Lamont responded for the visitors in the second period.

The Kodiaks earned the single point despite getting just 15 shots on goal.

Aldergrove has a big chance to move closer to that final playoff berth as they host Mission on Wednesday (Feb. 2) at the Aldergrove Arena.
