Bandits shoot down North Stars

The Brooks Bandits improved to 3-0 with a win over the North Stars in the WCC

Arnaud Vachon scored the winner as the Brooks Bandits defeated the Battlefords North Stars 4-1 in Western Canada Cup action at the South Okanagan Events Centre Tuesday.

Parker Foo opened the scoring for the Bandits 25 seconds into the match. Vachon made it 2-0, while Oliver Chau and Conner Jean rounded out the Bandits scoring. North Stars scored their lone goal on the power play by Keaton Holinaty at 12:29 of the second period.

The North Stars went one-for-nine on the power play, while the Bandits went 0-for-five.

Conner, McKechney and Chau each finished with two points. Benson turned aside 19 saves in the win, while Joel Gryzbowski finished with 29 saves for the North Stars. The win improves the Bandits to 3-0 for eight points, while the North Stars now have two losses and an overtime loss for one point.
