The Bantam B Tyees racked up a pair of wins on their 600 km Island trek last weekend.
The Tyees’ first game was Saturday in Port Alice against the Tri-Port Eagles. The Tyees found themselves engaged in an end to end battle with the Eagles and were locked at 2-1 for Tri-Port at the midpoint of the game.
In the third period the Bantam Tyees took fire to the net, and with 15 minutes left in the game it was tied 3-3.
The Tyees worked hard to out shoot their opponents and were rewarded with a comeback goal to make it 4-3.
With minute-by-minute plays the Tyees scored and scored to win the game 8-3.
With victory in their blood, the Tyees headed to Sooke on Sunday to take on the Thunderbirds. The Tyees made their mark in the first, playing strong on the penalty kills and leaving the ice with a two goal advantage. They never knew anything but win, popping three more into the net in the next two periods and finishing the game with a four goal lead.
