Houston played host to a Bantam tourney Jan. 21, 22 and 23.

Teams from Burns Lake, Smithers, Vanderhoof, and Hazelton attended.

Game 1 was Friday night VS Smithers and we cruised to a 5-0 win.

Game 2 was Saturday morning as we played Hazelton. Our defense was very strong and once again we won 5-0.

Game 3 Saturday afternoon saw us face off against Vanderhoof and we passed the puck very well and won 4-0. Goaltenders Jason Lieuwen and Jesse Denommee split these games to earn shutouts.

Sunday morning was a battle of two undefeated teams as we faced Burns Lake. Burns Lake struck first as they went ahead 1-0. Our boys didn’t panic and responded with 3 goals to win 3-1.

We would face Burns Lake again in the final for gold. The team was pumped up and came out flying. They scored their first goal 45 seconds in and after ten minutes it was 3-0. We held them scoreless as we won the game 6-0.

Houston played a team game with incredible passing and good sportsmanship, taking very few penalties as we went undefeated to win our home tournament.
