Barriere Secondary

Spring sports are up and running. We are pleased to have a combined Junior Rugby team with Clearwater and a Senior Seven’s Rugby team with Clearwater. Both teams are very competitive and are looking to win the West Zone titles this year. A huge thank you to Gabe Francis from Clearwater who has dedicated many hours working with both teams.

The girls soccer team is still up and running. They have a very successful year and are looking to build a strong program.

The girls finished seventh in their Hope tournament where team all stars Alexandra Underhill and Meghan Balatti dominated the play. In league play, Taylynn Eustache has been a strong forward scoring some very important goals against Kumsheen in a challenge game to keep our season alive. The girls play Ashcroft in Kamloops on Tuesday, May 2. The final playoff game will be held Tuesday, May 9 TBA. The girls also have a tournament in Clearwater on the May 5–6 weekend.

Barriere Golf team is extremely thankful to Chinook Cove golf course for sponsoring the team’s practice times to get them ready for qualifiers.

The school is very excited to not only have a senior golf team this year, but we are also able to field a junior golf team as well. Practices are underway so please stay in the loop. The West Zone Golf Tournament is held on Monday, May 8 this year.

The Barriere Track team consists of 30 athletes in a variety of sports. The West Zone track meet will be held on Tuesday, May 9 at TCC.

Thank you as always to all parents who allow their children to take part in our programs. Thank you to all the coaches who put in their time to provide the students with an opportunity to play.
