The Kamloops Sun Devils captured bronze at Baseball Canada’s 2015 Canadian Senior Men’s National Championship in Chatham, N.B. on Sunday.
Kamloops defeated Nova Scotia 5-1 in the bronze medal final on Sunday. With the score tied 0-0 and two out in the fifth inning, a Scott Nevison hit, and a Brendan Reid walk would bring up Erik Herbranson. A double steal would put both runners in scoring position and Herbranson would deliver a two-stike single to left field to score both runners and put the Sun Devils up 2-0.
New Brunswick would get one back in the sixth but a three-run inning sparked by a Dave Hole home run would seal the deal for the Devils.
Jake Hein got the win for Kamloops, giving up two hits and two walks, while striking out one. Hole went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and one RBI. Scott Nevison was also 2-for-3 with a stolen base, while Luc Simpson stroked a double and an RBI.
Canada lost to Quebec 1-0 in the semifinal match, before Ontario beat Quebec 4-1 in the final.
