One of the country’s top college basketball programs will help children and teens hoop it up this summer.

Vancouver Island University’s athletics department holds basketball camps next month. A shooting camp will be held July 4-5, followed by a perimeter development camp July 6-7.

Avneet Brar, an assistant coach with the VIU men’s basketball team, will lead the camps.

“Athletes will be broken up into groups based on their age and skill level for parts of camp to ensure all athletes are receiving the suitable amount of content in relation to their skill set,” said Brar in a press release.

Both camps are for boys and girls in Grades 2-12 and run 9 a.m.-noon at the VIU gym. Cost is $60 for each camp, or $100 for both. Further family discounts are available. To register, click here. For more information, e-mail avneet850@gmail.com.
