Abbotsford’s Phoenix Moller will be continuing his football journey in Toronto.
The Robert Bateman Timberwolves star announced his intentions to join the University of Toronto Varsity Blues starting later this year.

Moller, who played both running back and linebacker during his run with the Abbotsford high school, collected 146 yards rushing, caught 24 yards in the air, scored two touchdowns and recorded 29 tackles in four games this season with the Wolves.
He was also part of the memorable 2018 Bateman squad that advanced all the way to the AA provincial final. Moller had 225 yards rushing, 42 yards receiving, four touchdowns and 33 tackles that season.

The 2020 grad has impressive combine numbers, completing the 40-yard dash in 4.76 seconds, reaching a bench press of 325 pounds, squatting 455 lbs. and deadlifting 500 lbs. He also played on the Team BC football team at the Canada Cup event in 2016 and 2019.
Moller also excelled in the sport of rugby while at Bateman, helping the Wolves earn a provincial silver in 2019 and also being named to the Varsity Letters website’s Dream Team for that year. This past December he traveled to California to represent Canada against the USA in rugby international competition.

The Varsity Blues, who play in the Canada West’s Ontario University Athletics conference, finished 2019 with a record of 2-6 and failed to qualify for the postseason.
The club returns to action on Aug. 30, when they host Wilfrid Laurier University. The Varsity Blues close out the regular season on Oct. 24 against York University.
