The Okanagan Sun have added a stud defensive end to the 2018 lineup.
The Canada West Rookie of the Year in 2016 and a CW All-Star last season, Nicholas Dheilly has left the Regina Rams and will spend one year in Kelowna before joining Regina or, more likely, another U-Sports program.
Dheilly has to drop down to junior for a year due to transfer rules, which require him to sit out a season before jumping to a different team.
The Sun get a player who has 10.5 career sacks at the U-Sports level and looks the part at six-foot-four and 220 pounds. Dheilly should be motivated to perform well. He’s on record wanting to join a “Vanier-calibre” team as he heads into his draft year in 2019.
