Three BCHL alums are on Team Canada’s roster for upcoming IIHF World Hockey Championship in Slovakia.
Canada’s defence includes Penticton Vee grads Dante Fabbro and Troy Stecher.
Stecher, a 25 year old Richmond native, has just finished his third season with the Vancouver Canucks.
Fabbro had his NHL debut this season, playing four regular season and six playoff games with the Nashville Predators.
The third BCHL grad on the Canadian roster is a teammate of Fabbro’s in Nashville. Forward Kyle Turris previously played in this tournament in 2013.
The Burnaby native played for the BCHL’s Burnaby Express in 2005-06 and 2006-07.
Internationally, Turris represented Canada at the 2007 U18 World Championships and the 2008 World Junior Championships, where he won gold.
