Big third period helps Thunder rally past A’s

Langley scores six in final frame to defeat Coquitlam 12-10

The Langley Thunder offence seems to be back on track as they hit double digits in goals in posting back-to-back victories last week.

The senior A lacrosse team built on a 14-5 home victory at the Langley Events Centre on June 12 with a 12-10 road win on Saturday night over the Coquitlam Adanacs.

The Thunder sit second in the Western Lacrosse Association at 5-2.

The win was not without its challenges, however, as Langley blew a 4-1 first period lead, rallying from a 7-6 deficit after 40 minutes.

The Thunder opened the third period with six consecutive goals in a 10:23 span. Coquitlam did score three straight to close the game, but lost by two goals.

The Langley offence was led by Shayne Jackson and Alex Turner, who both had two goals and one assist and Tor Reinholdt, who had one goal and two helpers.

Kyle McEwen chipped in with a pair while Brett Mydske, Jarrett Toll, Alex Crepinsek, Brandon Goodwin and Kerry Susheski each potted a goal.

Brodie MacDonald stopped 35 of the 45 shots he faced.
