The weekly Men’s Club round at the 108 Golf Resort, with periods of afternoon rain and strong wind gusts on Aug. 27, saw some impressive scorecard numbers, including a 69 by Bill Harris.
Chris Stevens (73), Lee Hansen (77) and Shawn McManus (78) were the next lowest gross shooters in the first flight. Joe Batahla (67), Jim Laird (68), Tyler Williams (69) and Al Sidor (70) fired lowest net in the first flight.
Ervin Hannah (79), Ron Douglas (80), Marty McClusky (83) and Marvin Declare (83) were the second flight’s top low gross golfers, while the best low net scores belonged to Dennis Thompson (65), Brian Coldwell (68), Greg Aiken (68) and Phil Bernert (69).
Steve Randell (85), Jack Rausch (89), Dan Hadden (93) and Bill Stokes (93) shot lowest gross in the third flight, while Tom Lund (71), Mel Shaw (73), Dan Cafferty (75) and Chris Cameron (80) were lowest net scorers.
The fourth flight saw Larry McKave (88), Bryant Hollins (94), Peter Messner (94) and Doug Johnston (94) with lowest gross scores. Ron Kelly (68) shot lowest net in the fourth flight, followed by Terry Barrick (69), Larry Watrich (70) and Al Smeds (71).
Closest-to-the pin, longest drive and longest putt contests were held throughout the round, which had 63 players competing.
Bill Baerg fired closest on No. 8; Rob Douglas on No. 15; and McKave on No. 18.
Trevor Harris ripped the longest drive on No. 2, while Hollins hit longest on No. 11, McClusky on No. 16 and Steve Randell on No. 1.
Shawn McManus dropped the longest putt on No. 7. McClusky sunk the longest putt on No. 14, while Bob Weiduwilt did it on No. 12 and Smeds did it on No. 1.
Deuces went to Greg Aiken, Bill Stokes and Hollins.
