The Port Alberni Black Sheep will face UVic Norseman on the road in the semifinal round of the Vancouver Island Rugby Union’s TC Cup playoffs this Saturday, Nov. 28.

But they go into UVic’s territory knowing they were on the winning side of a 37–17 score against UVic just last weekend in Port Alberni.

“The boys played very well on the weekend,” head coach Jas Purewal said. Port Alberni was leading 22–12 at halftime and despite giving up a couple of soft tries to UVic, dominated the second. “The story of the day was our forwards were very physical with them,” Purewal said. “It made it difficult for (UVic) to get any flow.”

The Black Sheep saw tries from Joe Kalugin, Anthony Selva, Ty Shannon, Asaeli and Sti Rokotuiwakaya. Todd Daradics kicked three conversions and two penalty goals in the win.
