Last weekend 15 Blue Devil Summer swimmers travelled to Duncan  to compete in the first meet of the season,  the Icebraker,  at the new Cowichan Aquatic Centre.

It was an exciting meet with swimmers coming together after a long winter break and vying for podium placements and  best times. The Blue Devil swimmers  were not disappointed as many top finishes and best times were accomplished.

The top six placements were:

Div 2:  Myia Dunn, 1st 100 IM , 100 Free, 3rd 50 Fly, 1st 50 Free, Back; 3 BTs. Zoe McDougall 2nd 50 Back, Breast; 3rd 100 Free; 2 BTs.

Div. 3: Sam Helpard 3rd 50 Breast, 100 Free, 2nd 50 Back; 1 BT.

Div. 4: Amelia Helpard 6th 100 Breast; 2 BTs. Adam Dunn 4th 100 Breast, 5th 100 Back, 6th 100 Free.

Div. 5: Hanna Ivankovic 4th 100 Fly, Breast, Free, 5th 100 Back; 4 BTs. Robin Jahnke 1st 50 Free, 6th 100 Back; 5 BTs. Jamie Neill 2nd 50 Fly, 100 Free, 4th 100 Back. Alex Kussauer 1st 100 Free, 2nd 50 Free, 4th 100 Fly, 5th 200 IM.

Div. 6: Emily Glowach 5th 50 Free. Spencer McDougall 4th 100 Breast, Free, 6th 50 Fly; 3 BTs

Div. 7: Alexis Hallier 2nd 100 Free, 3rd 50 Free, 100 Back.

 

Swimmers parents and coaches are now looking forward to the Courtenay Invitational Swim Meet to be held June 25-26 at the outdoor pool in Lewis Park.
