Bouchey, Misic combine for one-hitter as Blaze win eighth straight

Langley leads B.C. Premier Baseball League with 35-6 record

Brayden Bouchey and Cooper Misic combined to throw a one-hitter as the Langley Blaze won for the eighth straight game, 5-1 over the Fraser Valley Chiefs.

The game was played Tuesday night at Whalley Athletic Park with Langley improving to 35-6, which puts them in top spot in the B.C. Premier Baseball League.

Bouchey tossed four innings, allowing one unearned run while striking out eight. He did struggle with control, issuing seven walks.

And Misic — called up from the Junior Blaze — allowed just one walk and no hits over his three innings of work.

Mason Cratty drove in three runs for Langley while Justin Lawrence and Mitchell Robinson had one RBI apiece.

Langley leads by eight games over the second-place Victoria Mariners.

The Blaze have just seven games remaining in the regular season while the rest of the U18 baseball league has double digits games to play.

The Blaze will wrap up their regular season — barring any rainouts — on June 25 and then head to Los Angeles from June 30 to July 8 where they will play a series of games against some Major League Baseball teams’ rookie clubs.

The league playoffs begin July 18 with the final four provincial championships from July 24 to 28.
