Bowles named MVP of Raiders

NANAIMO – The V.I. Raiders looked back at the good things that happened this past season with their team awards on Sunday.

The V.I. Raiders looked back at the good things that happened this past season with their team awards on Sunday.

Defensive end Quinton Bowles was named the team’s MVP and also won the Coaches’ Award. Receiver Dustin Rodriguez was chosen as Offensive MVP, linebacker Dexter Shea was Defensive MVP and Josh Paisley was named Special Teams Player of the Year, Defensive Back of the Year and winner of the Rhys Coppens Award.

Safety Cole Virtanen was chosen Rookie of the Year and defensive backs Max Baldam, Adam McDonald and Alex Eberling shared the Most Improved Player award. Fullback J.Q. Lobo was named as Most Inspirational Player and lineman Jordan Stovra won the President’s Award.

Other winners were Ryan Dekker, Offensive Lineman of the Year; Arthur Fabbro, Receiver of the Year; Taylor Flavel, Offensive Back of the Year; Kaelan Botel, Defensive Lineman of the Year; Nigel Henry, Linebacker of the Year; and A.J. Hicks, Community Award.
