Three goals and eight points from Bryce Brochu helped the Langley Jr. Thunder snap a four-game winless streak.
The Thunder defeated the Burnaby Junior Lakers 13-10 at the Langley Events Centre.
Langley scored six of the first eight goals and led 13-4 early in the third period. The Lakers scored scored six goals — including four on the power play in a span of 4:11 — in the final period but ran out of time in their comeback attempt.
Dylan Lacroix (three goals, one assist), James Rahe (two goals, three assists), Ryan Martel (two goals), Thomas Moffatt (one goal, two assists) and Alex Gibbs (four assists) also had multi-point games.
Brodie Porter and Parker Willis had the other Langley goals and Jake Sunder stopped 39 shots for the win.
The victory came on the heels of a 12-7 loss the night before in Coquitlam to the Junior Adanacs.
Rahe had five goals in the losing cause while Moffatt had a goal and four helpers. Christian Bosa had the other Langley goal while Gibbs and Lacroix had three assists apiece and Brochu chipped in with a pair of helpers.
The Thunder (2-3-1) host the Victoria Junior Shamrocks (3-2) on Sunday (May 17) at the LEC. Game time is 5 p.m.
