Hillary Metcalfe won a bronze medal while also setting a new Langley Olympians Swim Club record in the girls’ 15 and under 50m breast event.
The 12-year-old came third with a time of 33.96 seconds at the Western Canadian championships in Kamloops.
She also placed fifth in the 100 breast, setting another club record (1:14.09).
The meet, which featured 540 swimmers, was split into two age groups: 15 and under and 16 and over.
William Vosper was seventh in the consolation final of the 200 fly.
Martha Metcalfe, 14, achieved personal bests in the 400 individual medley and the 200 fly, while 15-year-old Michael MacDonald set new personal bests in the 100 back, 800 free, 100 free, 400 free and 100 fly.
AA championships
Some other members of the Olympians were in Chilliwack for the B.C. AA championships. The meet served as a chance for swimmers to gain their qualifying times for this month’s AAA championships.
And Emily d’Entroment, 11, and Paige Dong, 12, achieved that result, finishing first and fourth, respectively, in their age groups.
D’Entroment was third in the 100 fly and eighth in the 200 free, while Dong was third in the 200 breast, fourth in the 100 fly and 400 IM, and sixth in the 200 breast. She also had personal bests in all of her races.
Avery Martin, Mackenzie Dong and Lisa Grier, all 10 years old, achieved provincial swim stars time (3:15).
Martin also set a new club record in the 50 fly with a time of 38.96, and placing fourth in the 100 free, sixth in the 400 free and seventh in the 200 IM. He placed fifth in his age group.
And Meredith Clark, 11, was third in the 800 free, fourth in the 400 free, sixth in the 200 free, 400 IM and seventh in the 100 free.
