A pair of former Brookswood Bobcats teammates are hoping to re-unite and wear the red and white for Canada.
Langley’s Aislinn Konig and Louise Forsyth are among the 24 players invited to Canada Basketball’s U19 junior women’s national team invitational tryouts.

The tryouts are being held July 2 to 4 at Humber College in Toronto.
“After a competitive evaluation process we have invited 24 athletes who hope to represent Canada in Italy at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2017,” said Denise Dignard, Canada Basketball’s director of the women’s high performance program.
“We look forward to a competitive tryout as our program continues its international development.”
Both Forsyth and Konig have represented Canada at various age-groups in the past.
Forsyth helped Canada win gold in 2015 at the U16 FIBA Americas championships and then fifth last year at the U17 FIBA championships.
Konig was on the Canadian team which won silver at last summer’s U18 FIBA Americas championships.
Konig, who graduated from Brookswood in 2016, will be a sophomore for North Carolina State in the fall.
“Getting invited is always an honour,” Konig said last month, when speaking with the Times.
“It is an opportunity to represent and compete for my country at the highest level (and) I am looking forward to competing against some of the best talent Canada has to offer.”
Forsyth, who graduated this month from the school, will begin her freshman season with the Gonzaga Bulldogs in September.
Following training camp, the selected players will remain in Toronto for training camp from July 5 to 11 and the finalized team roster will head to France for an exhibition tournament against No. 3 ranked France, No. 7 ranked Australia and No. 9 China.
That tournament is set for July 15 to 17.
The team will then travel to Italy for the FIBA U19 women’s basketball World Cup 2017. Canada will look to build on their eighth-place finish in 2015.
