Robyn Buckingam ran, threw and jumped to the gold medal.

Buckingham, who competes for the Langley Mustangs Track and Field Club, captured the gold medal in the girls’ heptathlon over the weekend (June 14 to 16) as the club hosted their annual Pacific Invitational Track and Field Meet at McLeod Athletic Park.

She was competing in the girls’ 15 to 17 division, and finished with 4,803 points in the seven events: the 100m hurdles, long jump, high jump, javelin, 800m, shot put and 200m.

Buckingham was tops in both the shot put and javelin events and won the gold medal by 187 points.

Earlier this month, the Walnut Grove student also won a silver and two bronze medals for her school at the B.C. high school track and field championships.
