Bucs beaten by rival Storm

The city’s Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League team lost 4-2 to the Campbell River Storm on the road Friday. Jake Calverley and Tyler Graham scored for Nanaimo.

The night before, the Bucs beat the Saanich Braves 6-4 at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Nolan Richardson, Nick Gomerich, Chad Bell, Trent Bell, Will McNamara and Will Koop scored for the home team and Liam Young was the winning goalie.

The Bucs visit the Westshore Wolves on Wednesday (Oct. 28) and then host the Oceanside Generals on Thursday in a 7:15 p.m. faceoff at the NIC.
