Bull on Canadian radar

Langley's Ashley Bull is off to Maryland for a Team Canada lacrosse camp

Ashley Bull is one step closer to representing Canada at next summer’s women’s lacrosse World Cup.

The 22-year-old from Langley is one of 41 women who have been invited to Team Canada’s next selection camp. It begins Oct. 8 in Sparks, Maryland at the US Lacrosse headquarters.

Bull, a 2012 Walnut Grove graduate, is a member of the Canisius College women’s lacrosse program.

She earned her degree in health and wellness from the Buffalo university last year but is now doing her masters.

Bull, who is coming off a torn ACL injury which she suffered in her first game last season, was the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference defensive player of the year in her sophomore year.

In 64 career games with the Griffins, she has 53 goals and 64 points in 57 games.

Bull, who played for the Langley Lightning field lacrosse program, has represented Canada in the past, playing for her country at the U19 women’s field lacrosse championships in 2011. She was only 16 at the time.
