Buckle up for some high-flying, cowboy-tossing, hoof-stomping eight-seconds of bull riding.
A&W presents the third annual Bull-A-Rama Saturday at the Coyote Creek Ranch, located on Westside Road in Vernon (watch for the signs). Gates open at 1 p.m. with the action beginning at 2.
Advanced tickets are available at the Performing Arts Centre for $13. General admission tickets will be $18 at the door with children six and under getting in for free.
“This should be a great event, we added a lot of improvements from last year’s event,” said Craig Moore.
Bull-A-Rama features more than 40 riders from North America and Australia.
Local boys Cody Moore and Wade Marchand will test their luck against big name riders such as Wacey Anderson of Saskatchewan, Josh Brinks of Australia and Bull Riding Canada (BRC) president Russell Friend.
The riders are part of the BRC and tour across Central and Western Canada all summer.
The bulls will be supplied from Coyote Creek Rodeo, JRB Cattle Company in Vernon and S&E Bucking Stock from Kamloops.
The top rider will get a chance to take on the event’s bounty bull, 50 Shades of Degray for a chance at an extra $1,000.
Bulls Rhinestone and Guitars and Cadillacs will also be attempting to toss the cowboys this weekend.
From 40, the field gets narrowed down to 10 finalists. The top-four riders will take home cash with the top prize of $5,000. The finals set to start between 4:30 and 5.
Bull-A-Rama offers plenty of events during the bull riding. There will be food vendors, a bouncy castle, helicopter rides and a beverage gardens.
