The Maple Ridge Burrards lead their first-round WLA playoff series 2-0 after a 7-6 victory Friday at home over the New Westminster Salmonbellies.
The Burrards led 4-3 after the first period, and shut New West out 2-0 in the final frame.
Mike Mallory scored the winning goal 7:31 into the third. He added two assists in the game.
Riley Loewen and Dan Taylor paced the Burrards with two goals and two assists each.
Ben McIntosh had two goals and an assist. Jarrett Davis chipped in two helpers, while Frank Scigliano made 34 saves for the win.
Alex Buque of the Salmonbellies received a match penalty in the game for kicking.
The Burrards won the first game of the best-of-seven series 13-9. The two sides meet again Saturday in New West, 7:45 p.m.
