Beautiful Burton was the site of the third Arrow Lakes Saddle Club Gymkhana. The group gathers to compete in skill races around barrels and poles, although the competition is for personal bests, and part of the riders’ training of their mounts.
The Club generally puts their horses through their paces in five races of differing complexity. Horse and rider work together, or are learning to, to speed through the course, their time recorded by an automatic timer and read out by volunteers from the announcement booth.
