Courtenay CADORA (Canadian Dressage Owners and Riders Association) has announced a series of Dressage Discovery Days made possible by funding through the 2010 Legacies Now Local Sport Program Development Fund.
At these events, riders will be able to perform their dressage tests in a show setting, but without the pressure and expense of a full competition. The judge will score each movement within the test, as well as give verbal feedback to each rider with tips on how to gain even better marks. The rider will then have a chance to ride the test again using this information to help improve the score.
One event has already taken place with three more scheduled: May 1 Goodmatch Farm, May 22 Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds, June 18 Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds (weather permitting for the latter two).
“Come out to enjoy and learn more about dressage,” a spokesperson said. Check the website for more information at http://courtenaycadora.com/about-2/.
