Campbell River Storm serves notice with emphatic victory in VIJHL playoff opener

The Campbell River Storm dominated the Peninsula Panthers in a 4-0 win in the opening game of their VIJHL playoff Tuesday night at the Rod Brind’Amour Arena.

The Storm’s Dylan Hard opened the scoring at 19:03 of the first period. Then in the second period, the Storm added two more from Dawson Frank on the power play and Dylan McCann. Frank added a second, unassisted goal at 18:44 of the third and Liam Murphy notched the shutout.

Shots were 44-25 in favour of the Storm. The Storm’s game star was McCann while the Panthers’ game star was goaltender Connor McKillop.

Next game is in Campbell River again on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Brindy.
