The 6-foot-1, 200-pound power forward, who turns 40 next month, scored once and drew three assists as the Silver Star Hitmen clipped the Godard Excavating Predators 5-4 Wednesday night at Wesbild Centre.

Carter, whose favourite NHL player is Pete Stemkowski, pocketed 95 points in a four-year collegiate career with the Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks.

Grand Forks Border Bruin grad Waylon Folliott, with two goals, Brad Semeschuk, with 1+2 and Ryan Johnson completed the 10-10-3 Hitmen attack in front of Shane Hillman.

Daniel Stein, another Grand Forks grad, scored twice for the 14-10-1 Preds, who got singles from Cody Keller and Keith Godard.

Mike McMorran netted the winner as the R.E. Postill & Sons Orphans shaded the Blue Jay Concrete Hornets 4-3 in the late nighter Wednesday.

Colin Fitzgerald, Tyson Head and Rob Bauml also scored for the Orphans (12-10-2). Blair Fernley, Brent Bond and Sean Ovington answered for the 8-16 Buzz, who got two assists from Murray Ford.

Corey Webb counted 2+4 as the Kal Sports Bar Blackhawks outlasted the Kal Tire Knights 8-6 Tuesday night at Civic Arena.

Sean Kober scored twice, including an empty-netter with 20 seconds left, while Sean Gracey, Matt Ertmoed and Jamie Renton added singles to complete the 10-14-1 Hawks’ offence in front of Jason Webster. Steve Ensign earned four helpers.

Cody Watson, with 2+1, Jake Stuchberry with two goals, Will Besler with 1+2 and Curtis Summerfelt answered for the 9-16-1 Knights.
