The University of the Fraser Valley men’s basketball team is heading south during the 2012 Christmas break.
The Cascades are traveling to Phoenix, Arizona for a six-day conditioning camp Dec. 26-31, and they will also participate in three exhibition games against National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) teams from the Phoenix area in the Cactus Jam Holiday Tournament.
The Cascades’ opponents are Cochise College Apaches (Dec. 28), the South Mountain Community College Cougars (Dec. 29), and the host Phoenix College Bears (Dec. 30).
UFV is currently No. 6 in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) national rankings, and they boast a 7-3 record in conference play, one game behind the UBC Thunder-birds (8-2) in the Pacific Division of Canada West. Their next home games are on the weekend of Jan. 11-12, when they host the Saskatchewan Huskies and the Alberta Golden Bears.
